Going green by going white…

hamper 004
Picked up this grungy, light green hamper for $16 at a local antique store. Scrubbed and painted her white. I have a friend coming to stay for a few months so this will serve as a hamper in her closet. In the meantime, it is in my bathroom. Amazing how a little white paint can make such a difference.

A while back I was blog surfing and read about a tool that made spray paining easier. Checked my local hardware store and they didn’t know what I was talking about. Since I was spray painting 8 items this weekend and have plans to spray another 4 items next weekend…I wanted to find this tool. Got mine at Home Depot for $2.49. WOW, it kept my index finger and thumb from going numb, I didn’t need to wear gloves, and it made spray painting go much quicker. Run, don’t walk to get yours.

That hamper has a brand new life. It looks great. Thanks for the heads up about that spray grip tool. I plan to look for it the next time I'm in town.

If your spray paint finger is also your mouse finger, you really feel it the next day. I'm happy to know the spray thing works.

I've got some spray painting projects coming up--I have an old peach colored hamper that I think I'll tackle while I'm at. First, though, I think I need to go by Home Depot and get one of those trigger thingies!

Renee, the hamper looks great and I really like that shower curtain too. But I REALLY LOVE your cottage photos. What an adorable place to live. Like a fairy tale! :)

White paint -- any paint, really -- is amazing ... talk about covering a multitude of sins!

And the spray nozzle thingy is wonderful -- I got one last month, and no more hurting fingers. Best invention ever. Except perhaps for chocolate.
