The hood...

Love my neighborhood...it is old, eclectic and charming. One block away from my home there are some spectacular homes, and where I have found many great free finds and the street you want to be on during our annual garage sale. I love driving down this street at night because the round light fixtures are green so the lighting is beautiful...so different than the boring white street lights. As in many neighborhoods the price of homes can range dramatically ($200k to millons) and that is exactly how it is in our neighborhood. Fortunately, thanks to my dog, I walk the neighborhood daily and I never tire of the view.

The house pictured above is one of my favorites. I met the owner one day and told him how much I loved his house and shared that it reminded me of California. He told me that the original owner was from California and planned to build the house in California but couldn't afford to do so and somehow ended up in Minnesota.

The following three pictures are of my favorite neighborhood house. It has been featured in magazines and on TV.

The following two pictures are of a house that was just built last summer/fall.
Thanks for stopping by...

You live in such a pretty neighborhood. I like it when homes have character and are all different.

All the best,

What a nice walk. :o) Growing up in N.CA was a real treat! I sure miss the character of the old homes that we lived in as well as around. I can imagine the treasures you must find at garage sales and street cast offs! :o)

Ps. We live in the country and there are no street lights...

These houses, except first pic, could easily have been plucked right out of New England. My goodness they are gorgeous. I love taking notes of the neighborhood and seeing how others develope their plot of land and the colors they choose for their homes. What fun.

I had more fun going through your blog than a person should be entitled to. From Lollie's puppyhood (the one way in the back) to your selvaging of the white/yellow quilt, to your garage door finds.. oh what find and all the way up to these houses. What fund.

Your home is delicious from top to bottom. You should be proud of how well decorated it is. Nice job.

Your neighborhood looks like it could be close to Lake of the Isles. Thank you for bringing back memories of home.
