My friend Kate gave me this table. Her father made it. I have been waffling about painting the top white. I plan to put it on the front or back porch.

Paint!
I vote 'not'. It's darn cute, as is.....
I vote DEFINITELY paint!!
It would look WICKED painted white and distressed by sanding and adding some stain!!
It's adorable!
That is one awesome table! I vote paint!
That's a hard one...it looks really cute like that...I say leave it.
LeAnn:)
What IS the top made of? Kind of pretty. I paint everything nowadays. But, depending how it'll look with the things around it, I might not.
Paint it! It looks like someone just got too lazy to finish the top, ya know?
It will go with your decor much better, and give it even more nautical appeal
paint it white.
I'm with the leave it group. :)
Hey Renee. I'm a paint it kinda gal. Not really feeling the unfinished top or even the blue really. Guess it depends on what it's near. Can't wait to see what you do with it...Tracy
Super cute and your friend many years later may regret giving it up !

That depends on where you're going to put it. If it goes with the decor, I'd leave it. The base would look great painted white and distressed.
Jane
Yep, I would definitely paint it!
The wood is very pretty and some would say it is a shame to cover up. I say, do what you feel is your strongest inclination!
