Saw this watercolor while browsing a store in New Hampshire. I asked one of the folks in the store if she knew the artist, and she said yes, I am the artist. The reason I wanted to find the artist...is because the watercolor was framed and matted when I found it. However, since I was flying home I didn't want to haul a frame with glass...the artist was kind enough to sell me just the watercolor so I could roll it in a tube and put it in the overhead on the plane. Of course I just had to add a red mat.
The frame was handmade by my friend Helen's husband Peter, and it is very special to me as Peter is no longer with us. Helen is also an artist..check out her paintings. Given my love for water this spoke to me.
Come back tomorrow for Part III of the red and white tour...
Thanks for stopping by...

Yep, that's a painting worth arranging shipping for right there. That is gorgeous. She had a real eye for the movement of water.
What a lovely story and I love how your home has been decorated with such care and thoughtfulness.
