The rest of the Kitchen...

What are those fancy curtains on the kitchen door? you ask. Why those are aprons left over from a skit that I was involved in years ago. After the skit they were going to toss the aprons and I just couldn't bear to see them tossed. I thought I could use them for cooking...but when I made the decision to have an all glass door from the kitchen to the screen porch...I realized I might want to hang something for privacy. The aprons were a perfect immediate solution 6 years ago. They are attached using magnetic clips as the door is metal. Over the years I have hung other items but always go back to the aprons. I now have curtains on the screen porch so I don't need to have the aprons any longer...but they have become part of the look.

Of course Lollie had to get in the photo. After all the reason I fell in love with her is because of my love for black and white.

I found this dog chalkboard at a garage sale for 50 cents. It came with a stand and was intended to sit in the stand....but I like having it on the wall. In an upcoming post I will tell you why the jello molds are on the wall.

In another upcoming post I will show you close ups of the plates on the wall and ask you to identify which one(s) I hauled back from Bellagio, Italy and which one(s) were purchased at TJ Maxx.

I love the fish hooks (click here to see pics) that are holding our coats and the bakers rack (click here to see pics). By the way, the washer/dryer is behind those tall skinny looking doors to the right of the coats and left of the rack. I love having the washer/dryer in the kitchen. I have a 1906 home which means the basement is basically dirt and I didn't want to go downstairs to do the laundry.

What a lovely kitchen! Love the dog chalk board. I have a washer/dryer combination (in one) in the kitchen. A few weeks ago I had water comming from the cupboard it is stowed in. I was lucky I was around so I was able to react fast. It turned out the hose from the discharge (is that the right word?) had come loose from the drain-pipe. So the washingmachine pumped the dirty water right into the cupboard.
Great, isn't it?
Bye,
Marianne.

I so love your kitchen. I got a big handful of paint chips to pick a white color for my cabinet. Who would have thought there would be so many shades of white.
