Classic black and white purses…

misc 016

For those who are relatively new to following or visiting my blog I want to share the following. I started my blog on 11/18/08 with a goal to do a post every day for one year – yes I have truly questioned that decision and with another 125 posts to go to reach my goal – I am really questioning that decision. Any way, I digress…on April 22, 2009 I started writing a Thrifty Shopping column for examiner.com. When I made the decision to take on the Thrifty Shopping column I waffled about continuing my goal of a post a day for a year. My loyal followers encouraged me not to stop blogging and gave me ‘permission’ to use any of my Thrifty Shopping articles as a post. Recently I have struggled with writing my examiner.com articles. I am attempting to make a renewed commitment to get back on track.

I hope you enjoy today’s Thrifty Shopping article: Classic black and white purses. Please stop by examiner.com and support me. Thanks.

Versatile potting table…

potting bench 002

Believe it or not I bought this potting table with the plan to use it to hold my quilts. Unfortunately it was too big for the spot I planned to place it. One of these days I will learn to take the local antique shop up on their policy to bring home an item for a 24 hour trial run. Since I decided not to use it for the quilts I never got around to painting it white. I plan to put it on craigslist this week and if it doesn’t sell before July 11th it will go in my garage sale.

The sales pitch…versatile table on wheels. Perfect as a potting table, bar, scrap booking table or baby's changing table. Lower shelf for storing pots or glasses and alcohol or pictures or diapers and baby powder. Will work in any room, the porch or cabin. Paint it to fit your decor. Height 35.5"; Depth 28" and Width 49.5.

Appetizers...

0620 025

Bought these two appetizer/snack plates for a quarter at a recent garage sale. I have seen these types of plates before and purchased them to give as a hostess gift. The concept is brilliant, the design somewhat in need of perfection. The idea is to provide you with a way to hold your appetizers and drink with one hand and eat with the other. The plate works fine as long as you don’t tilt it so that the glass falls out (which could easily happen after a few glasses of wine). I overlooked the glass holder design flaw as I thought I could risk the 25 cents. I liked the etching of the wine bottle, glasses and apps on the plates.

I thought the plates would be fun to use with guests out on the front porch.
