Time to vent…

0528 003

If you read my post from Monday, June 15, 2009 you know that I have been challenged by plaster walls…but thanks to a cool stud finder I am now able to hang items hassle free. I bought this vent a few years back at one of my favorite local antique stores (which is no longer in business) and it has been sitting on the toilet tank due previous plaster wall challenges. It drove me crazy that it sat on the tank…especially when it came to having to lift it off to dust the tank top. Recently my brother helped me hang it. I have waffled about painting it but I kind of like that it is outside my standard color choices.

  3. I love the vent and love it as is. I think sometimes we want to paint things so much that we end up losing their character in the process. I think it looks great in your bath and I get the plaster wall dilema - my house is 1929 plaster everywhere.

  4. I feel your pain about plaster walls! I hate to put a hole in the wall, because a nice little chunk of plaster usually falls off. Lately I have been putting a piece of Scotch tape over where I want to drill, and the plaster stays put.
I love that vent so much! It has such great character, and I hope you don't paint it--I like it as is!
