Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…

0718 012
And to me this vintage screen door is beautiful…love the detail. Bought it for $3 at a garage sale a few weeks back. I stumbled upon the sale and saw this door propped up with items leaning against it. I wasn’t sure it was even for sale as they had the tag on the ‘back’ of the door. Once I figured out it was for sale and it was only $3…I quickly grabbed it. As I was hauling it to over to the owner to pay…several folks commented that they didn’t know it was for sale and were bummed they missed out on it. At the time I bought it I didn’t have a clue what I would do with it…since then I have come up with a few hair brain ideas. By the way, if I wasn’t so tired (just got home from a business trip…my 6th trip in 7 weeks), I would take a few more pictures for you…because after all it is beautiful.

1) Use it as a full length mirror. Cut three sections of mirror versus on full length piece, and attach each individually so that it is easier to haul and less chance of breaking a full length mirror.
2) Cut it in three sections and displaying them in various ways.
3) Make it into a coffee table, possibly with a mirror under it and somehow on the wheels I blogged about here.

Feel free to share your ideas.

People Who Know Me Would Say: said...

It's terrific. Reminds me of when we were kids and the screen door to the back porch would go 'squeak, fwap, fwap!'

I love that door...I've seen bloggers use them as doors for their pantry. Thats what I would do IF I had a pantry and that door!!

Meant to add this on my other comment: I've seen people use old screen doors on their pantry, or do you have a door it would work on?

I'd probably just lean it against a wall as art. It's lovely and quite the steal, I mean deal!
